A fast-moving fire tore through an apartment complex in Hemet Friday, apparently killing at least one person, injuring at least three more and displacing several residents.

The fire was reported about 1:15 a.m. in the 100 block North Alessandro Street, near Latham Avenue.

New video from the scene showed thick smoke around the complex as Hemet police officers went door-to-door to alert residents to get out of the building.

Officials had not confirmed any deaths, but ABC7 showed a body being removed from the location, and coroner’s personnel were on the scene.

Media reports said up to three people were hurt in the fire.

The cause was under investigation.
