Beverly Hills police spent about three hours Saturday searching before arresting an armed robbery suspect who left one handgun behind but carried another, authorities said.
The robbery occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of North Canon Drive, between Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards, said Beverly Hills police Sgt. T. West.
Shots were fired but no one was hurt, West said. A gun was discarded and recovered.
The robbery occurred outside a Rite Aid drug store and the victim was a civilian, he said. It was not clear what the suspect took from the victim, if anything.
Police closed streets in the search area and contained the suspect. He was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. and a second gun was recovered, West said.
