A Verizon store in the Oak Park area of San Diego was robbed at gunpoint Saturday, authorities said.
It was reported at 7:39 p.m. at 6348 College Grove Way, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
“A dark-skinned male suspect walked into the Verizon Wireless store with a gun and made the employee go to the back of the store,” Heims said. “The suspect took items out of the safe and put them in a garbage bag.”
The suspect fled the store to what the employee believed was a waiting sedan, the officer said.
He was described as a thin, dark-skinned man in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 130 pounds, wearing a hooded jacket and something across his face, Heims said.
The robbery was under investigation, he said.
