A man who allegedly robbed a bank near Southwestern College in Chula Vista Thursday was arrested nearby a short time later.
Juron Ervin, 39, allegedly demanded money from a teller at the Wells Fargo branch office in the 700 block of Otay Lakes Road about 1 p.m. and fled with about $6,000, according to police.
Roughly 20 minutes later, officers searching the area found the suspect standing outside a business in the 1400 block of East H Street, just south of Discovery Park, and took him into custody without incident, Lt. Gino Grippo said.
Witnesses to the robbery identified Ervin as the alleged perpetrator, according to Grippo.
The stolen money was recovered, Grippo said.
