A man was found dead Friday in Monterey Park, and a person has been detained for questioning, authorities said.
Officers found the man’s body about 5:50 a.m. while responding to a loud music disturbance call in the 1100 block of College View Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Monterey Park police in the investigation.
When officers arrived at the scene, a person inside told officers that a man was dead in the building, according to Deputy James Nagao of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Officers entered the building and found a man lying unresponsive on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Nagao said, but the cause of death was not immediately known.
One person was detained for questioning, according to Nagao. It was not immediately clear if that person was the one who gave officers the tip.
