Two officers responding to a collision were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in South Los Angeles, where an 18-year-old civilian suffered major injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 12:38 a.m. near the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Broadway, said Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

Paramedics rushed three people to area hospitals, said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The officers were responding to a crash at 54th Street and Broadway at the time of their collision, according to the LAPD.

They were listed in stable condition at an area hospital, said Lee, adding that no one was cited or arrested.
