A man was struck and seriously hurt on a Jurupa Valley street by a hit-and-run motorist who remained at large Tuesday, authorities said.
The pedestrian was struck about 10:35 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Hamner Avenue and Third Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Luke Torres said the victim, whose name was not released, was walking on Hamner when the motorist struck him going northbound in his SUV. Torres said the suspect sped away, turning eastbound on Third.
Deputies arrived moments later and found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. He man was taken to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a 2013-17 dark-colored Jeep Patriot.
