Authorities Thursday identified a man who was found stabbed to death in his Monterey Park residence.

Ming Yang, 53, was found dead about 5:50 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of College View Drive, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Monterey Park police officers went to the scene on a “loud music disturbance” call, and a person told them that a man was dead in the building, according to Deputy James Nagao of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Officers entered the building and found Yang lying unresponsive on the floor. He had suffered multiple stab wounds, and his death was classified as a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.

One person was detained for questioning, according to Nagao. Information was not available on whether anyone had been arrested.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Those who wish to report anonymously can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
