Police officers evacuated a Van Nuys intersection but the Los Angeles Police Department’s Bomb Squad later determined suspicious containers inside an SUV were stolen cans of gasoline, authorities said.
The incident started at 9:44 p.m. Monday when the suspicious SUV was observed in a parking lot near Van Nuys Boulevard and Sherman Way, Officer A. De La Torre in the LAPD Operations Center said.
The Bomb Squad was called to the scene for a time-consuming examination of the vehicle, which was cleared at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, he said.
No arrests were made, De La Torre said.
