A clerk at a 7-Eleven store in the city of Riverside was found fatally shot Friday, and authorities were investigating whether the crime was related to a pair of earlier armed robberies of 7-Eleven stores in the county area of Riverside overnight in which no one was injured.
A customer found the body of the man, believed to have been in his 30s, about 3:30 a.m. inside the business at Indiana and Arlington avenues, according to the Riverside Police Department.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally wounded man. No arrests were reported. The crime was believed to have been committed by a single suspect, police said.
Authorities were working to determine if the killing was related to a pair of armed robberies earlier Friday morning in the Riverside County communities of Perris and Moreno Valley, police said.
Arrangements were being made to review security video from the businesses.
