A man was killed Monday when he crashed his car into a utility pole in the northeastern Antelope Valley, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 1:10 a.m. on East Avenue E at 30th Street East, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.
The black Saturn hit the pole so hard, it moved about two feet while remaining upright, Kimball said.
The driver, a man of about 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
