One person was killed Sunday in a fiery crash on the Orange (57) Freeway in Orange, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash took place around 3:55 a.m. on the southbound freeway near the Chapman Avenue off-ramp, the CHP reported.

Witnesses told the CHP the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

The CHP declared a Sigalert at 4:50 a.m. All southbound traffic was temporarily stopped hear the accident site.

There’s no word yet on the gender or age of the victim. The name of the victim will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A representative from the Orange County coroner’s office was dispatched to the scene at 5:46 a.m.

No reports of any other injuries were issued by the CHP.
