Police halted the operations of an illegal marijuana operation in Pomona Monday and also seized a loaded firearm, authorities said.
The Pomona Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit had previously shut down the dispensary — which was operating without a permit — several times, according to department spokeswoman Aly Mejia. The dispensary is located on the 1600 block of East Ninth Street.
This time, officers confiscated $15,000 in cash, 10 pounds of marijuana and more than 42 pounds of related products, along with a loaded firearm, Mejia said.
While the use of marijuana is legal in California, the sale of the drug without a permit is illegal in the city, she said.
The operator has repeatedly refused to comply with the city’s request to close the dispensary, Mejia alleged.
It was unclear whether anyone was inside when police arrived, but no arrests were reported.
