Two people were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle collision outside the front entrance to Riverside National Cemetery.

The crash happened about 11:05 a.m. at the intersection of Meridian Parkway and Van Buren Boulevard, where Meridian accesses the cemetery, on the edge of the Riverside city limits, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A minivan and SUV collided at the location, though the circumstances were not immediately clear.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the scene within a few minutes and found two victims with minor to moderate injuries. Both were taken to a Riverside hospital for treatment.

The intersection was partially shut down by CHP and Riverside police officers while an investigation was conducted and one of the vehicles was towed away.
