The air-traffic control tower at John Wayne Airport in Orange County was closed Friday due to a suspected case of coronavirus.
According to the airport, the case is “suspected but unconfirmed.” No details were released on the possible patient.
With the airport’s tower closed, air traffic is being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration’s regional control center, according to the airport.
KNX Newsradio reported that one of the airport’s runways has been closed.
Passengers were urged to check with their airlines to confirm flight status.
