A Ventura County woman pleaded not guilty Monday to a murder charge stemming from the stabbing death of a Lakewood woman at a popular nightclub in the Arlington Heights area of Los Angeles.
Elaine Deleonguerrero, 34, of Camarillo, is charged with the Jan. 19 slaying of Iman Wright, 23.
The stabbing occurred about 12:30 a.m. that day at Catch One in the 4000 block of Pico Boulevard, near Crenshaw Boulevard. A motive was unclear.
Wright died at a hospital that day of a stab wound to the chest, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Deleonguerrero was arrested the following day by Los Angeles police and has remained jailed in lieu of $2 million bail since then.
