Two additional Los Angeles Police Department employees tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the total to 35 members of the force who have contracted the virus.
One employee has recovered and returned to work, and two are hospitalized, according to Jessica Kellogg, public information officer for the city’s Emergency Operations Center.
It was not immediately clear how many of the patients are officers, but on Wednesday the LAPD reported that 27 officers had tested positive.
The Los Angeles Fire Department has a total of 10 employees who have tested positive for the virus. Two have recovered and returned to work, and one is hospitalized, Kellogg said.
