A Montclair man was jailed in lieu of $1.2 million bail in connection with the shooting of another man in Claremont, authorities said Saturday.
Isaias Reyes-Moreno, 26, was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of attempted murder, Claremont Police Sgt. Robert Ewing said.
Reyes-Moreno was located in the area of Kingsley and Monte Vista avenues in Montclair with a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in his possession that was believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, Ewing said.
“Two search warrants were later served, one in Montclair and the second in La Verne where additional evidence was located related to the crime,” Ewing said. “The investigation revealed that the motive for the shooting was a domestic relationship.”
Reyes-Moreno was accused of firing multiple shots at the victim as the victim stood in front of his residence in the 100 block of Meredith Street, the sergeant said. He fled the scene.
The victim was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries, Ewing said.
Reyes-Moreno remained in the Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $1.2 million bail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
