Fire Sunday damaged a vacant warehouse in Riverside.

Firefighters dispatched at 2:47 a.m. to 2993 Sixth St. had the fire under control at 3:37 a.m., the City of Riverside Fire Department reported.

“Crews came across active downed electrical lines against a perimeter fence upon initial arrival,” Battalion Chief Michael Staley said. “A complete search of the building was conducted due to reports of a possible homeless person still inside the building. No victim was found within the structure.”

The fire wrought $75,000 worth of damage to the structure, Staley said. A cause of the fire was under investigation.
