A man in his 30s was killed in a shooting in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area near South Los Angeles and Huntington Park and the shooter was at large Saturday morning.
Deputies responded to a call of shots fired in a largely industrial area of Wilmington Avenue and 65th Street at 10:10 p.m. Friday and found the victim in the road suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The name of the victim was not disclosed.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available and a weapon was not recovered, Crowder said.
The shooting does not appear to be gang-related, he said.
