Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was fatally shot in Pomona over the weekend and whose alleged killer was in custody.

Michael Miller, 29, of Pomona was shot about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Las Vegas Avenue, according to the coroner’s office and Pomona police. A family member drove Miller to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical center, where he died.

Raymond Leonard Rice, 31, of Hemet was arrested on suspicion of murder early Sunday at a residence in Hemet after a Pomona police SWAT team served a search warrant, police said. Rice was being held on $2 million bail, according to the sheriff’s department.

Police have not commented on a motive for the crime.
