The discovery of an unresponsive man lying on a Golden Hill roadway, bleeding from the head, prompted authorities Wednesday to close a stretch of the street to allow for an investigation.
The discovery in the 3000 block of C Street in Golden Hill was reported about 10:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
How the unidentified man got injured was not immediately clear, SDPD public-affairs Officer Billy Hernandez said. Medics took the patient to a hospital in unknown condition.
Police shut down the road between Edgemont and 30th streets to allow investigators to gather evidence.
