A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fullerton Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 1900 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue, west of Brookhurst Road, at 2:53 p.m. and found the bicyclist suffering from major injuries, according to Sgt. Eric Bridges of the Fullerton Police Department.

“Life saving measures were performed by Fullerton police officers and Fullerton fire paramedics,” Bridges said. “Despite their efforts, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The driver stayed at the crash location and cooperated with the investigation. Drugs or alcohol were not considered factors in the accident, Bridges said.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not released.
