A man is hospitalized in critical condition after being found Tuesday in Long Beach with puncture wounds in his upper torso and a person of interest was detained.
Officers were flagged down in the area of Granada Avenue and Stearns Street about 11:30 a.m. by a person who saw the wounded man, according to an official with the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers found the man with puncture wounds in his upper torso. The cause of the wounds was not immediately known, but investigators located a crime scene in an alley of the 2200 block of Clark Avenue, near the East Los Coyotes Diagonal, the official said.
