A 50-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday in a South Los Angeles home and the gunman remains at large, a police lieutenant said.
The victim was found inside a residence at 1407 W. 80th St. about 11 a.m., according to Los Angeles police Lt. Angela McGee and a videographer at the scene.
The man’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
“There was some kind of group chat going on, on a computer, and someone noticed the front door was open,” McGee said. “Police were called and that’s when they discovered the victim.”
Police have no suspect description at this time, she said.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.
Anyone with information on this homicide was asked to call the LAPD’s 77th Street Division at 323-786-5077. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
