A Temple City man shot to death inside a residence was publicly identified Sunday.
Michael Patrick McHugh was 83, according to coroner’s Lt. Nani Cholakians.
Deputies were sent to the 4900 block of Halifax Road, near Lower Azusa Road, at about 3:30 p.m. Friday regarding a gunshot victim, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.
They found the victim now identified as McHugh inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man later identified as the victim’s son was detained at the scene and taken to the sheriff’s Temple station for questioning, sheriff’s officials said. It was unclear whether the man was arrested.
