Authorities Tuesday identified a woman who was shot to death in Compton, and continued their efforts to solve the crime.
Teena Maldonado, 38, was shot at 7:25 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Santa Fe Avenue and died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Deputies from Compton Station responded to a home … regarding a call of an assault with a deadly weapon/gunshot victim,” Deputy Tracy Koerner said.
A murder weapon and suspect could not be located, and no suspect information was available. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call homicide detectives at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
