A 20-year-old man is in custody Friday after allegedly fatally stabbing his 30-year-old neighbor during a dispute in Riverside.
Officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Roblynn Street, near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Monroe Street, about 4:10 p.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside Police Department.
Joel Jose Carrillo, 30, was found laying on the ground with a stab wound to his chest, police said. He died at the scene.
Investigators have determined there was an altercation between neighbors during which 20-year-old Dayton Pompa stabbed Carrillo.
Pompa fled the scene, but later returned and waited for police.
Pompa was arrested and booked at Robert Presley Detention Center for homicide. He is being held on $1 million bail.
