A $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a man in downtown Los Angeles was announced Friday.
The victim was struck by a white 2004-2006 Scion xB about 2 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of East Seventh Street, near South Alameda Street, and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A blue or gray 1980s full-size van was directly behind the Scion, and police are also looking for that car’s driver to see if he or she knows the Scion’s license plate number.
The victim was in his 50s, police said. His name has not been released.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run was encouraged to contact Detective Juan Campos at 213-833-3713 or the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at 213-486-3713. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
