A McLaren sports car crashed in the San Fernando Valley community of Valley Village, leaving a passenger dead, it was reported Monday.
The crash occurred about 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of Carpenter Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A man riding in the car died at a hospital, police said. His name was withheld, pending family notification.
The driver was treated for unspecified injuries, police said. No arrest was reported. According to the preliminary investigation, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed, according to the the LAPD.
