A grand theft auto suspect was arrested after officers revived him from a likely overdose inside the stolen vehicle, Bell Gardens police announced Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Gotham Street, near Long Beach (710) Freeway, at 10:51 p.m. Sunday on a call of a man passed out inside a car, according to Lt. Efren Aguirre of the Bell Gardens Police Department.
Officers believed he was suffering from a narcotics overdose, and they revived him with NARCAN, which helps reverse opioid overdoses, Aguirre said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to a hospital for treatment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, according to Aguirre.
