A 29-year-old man was killed Wednesday in a solo rollover crash on northbound state Route 163 in Hillcrest.
The fatal wreck occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. just south of Washington Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The victim, a San Diego resident in a Toyota Prius, died at the scene, according to the CHP and broadcast reports.
The accident forced a closure of the northbound lanes of the freeway in the area.
