Four possibly gang-related shootings occurred in a less than five-hour span Friday in South Los Angeles, and two people were rushed to a hospital with gunshot wounds.
The first shooting occurred about 2 p.m. near 52nd and Figueroa streets, according to Sgt. Rick Rodgers of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Community Station.
The next happened about 4:30 p.m. near 51st Street and Vermont Avenue, where one person was struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital, according to Rodgers and Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The third shooting occurred at 5:23 p.m., when another person was struck by bullets near 74th and Figueroa streets, according to Rodgers. That person was taken to a hospital, Stewart said.
The fourth shooting happened near 83rd Street and Normandie Avenue at 6:45 p.m., according to Rodgers.
Information about suspects or the two victims was not available.
It was unclear if the shootings were related.
