An officer-involved shooting occurred in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles after a fatal stabbing at the location, authorities said Monday.
Officers responded at 9:25 p.m. Sunday to a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of North Wilton Place, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
The officers found one woman stabbing another woman, Lopez said. An officer-involved shooting took place, said LAPD Officer Tony Im.
The stabbing victim, in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the LAPD. Authorities withheld her name, pending family notification.
The suspect was taken to a hospital, and was in stable condition Monday morning, officials said. Her name was not immediately released.
