A man in his 20s was shot and critically wounded Thursday in Pasadena.

The victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Painter Street, a couple of blocks from Fair Oaks Avenue, when a vehicle pulled up and at least one of the occupants shot him about 10:45 a.m., according to the Pasadena Police Department’s preliminary investigation.

The man, who was shot in the upper body, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.

Witnesses told investigators that the car may have been a gray sedan with at least two suspects inside, according to Carrillo.
