One person died and another was critically injured in a traffic crash Thursday in the south Los Angeles area.
The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. at Imperial Highway and Wilmington Avenue, said Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.
One person was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. A second person was taken to a hospital in critical condition, he said.
The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
