A motorist, suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, was arrested in connection with a crash Sunday that killed his passenger when the car crashed into a tree in Inglewood.
The crash occurred in the area of Manchester Boulevard and 11th Avenue at around 2:30 a.m., the Inglewood Police Department reported. Officers dispatched to the scene reported that a vehicle had crashed into a tree. Arriving paramedics rushed the driver to an area hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.
It was unclear if his passenger, an unidentified man, died at the scene or at an area hospital.
“At this time, the collision remains an active investigation,” police said in a statement.
