An end-of-the-school-year celebration at a preschool in Huntington Beach took a frightening turn Tuesday when a teacher was shot in the leg by what police suspect was a pellet gun.
Teachers, parents and students were enjoying a drive-through year-end parade about 11:35 a.m. at Oak View Preschool at 17131 Emerald Lane when a teacher “felt something in her leg and saw a little bit of blood,” said Huntington Beach Police Department Officer Angela Bennett.
“Nobody saw anything or heard anything” before the teacher felt the pain in her leg, Bennett said.
The teacher was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released for minor injuries, Bennett said.
Police have not established a motive for the shooting, Bennett said.
