A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Compton.
The shooting occurred in the 600 block of South Ward Avenue, north of Alondra Boulevard, about 9:10 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
