Three suspected drunken drivers were in custody Saturday morning after being arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Lynwood.
The checkpoint was located at Imperial Highway and Jackson Avenue and conducted between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Another seven drivers were cited for being unlicensed or driving with a suspended or revoked license and one was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive their car, the department said.
A total of five vehicles were towed and one driver was arrested for a drug violation, the LASD said.
Checkpoints are conducted at locations with a history of crashes and DUI arrests, the department said.
“As businesses continue to reopen, including bars and restaurants, impaired driving remains a top traffic safety concern,” a statement from the department said.
