Two suspected marijuana growers accused in operations across Cabazon were arrested Thursday after authorities served search warrants at at least two addresses where more than 1,800 plants were chopped down.
Vansy Santisouk, 55, and Rodolfo Martinez, 22, were arrested on suspicion of growing marijuana and booked at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where they remained in lieu of $5,000 bail as of Thursday afternoon, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jaime Hernandez.
Sheriff’s deputies and personnel from Riverside County Code Enforcement served an unspecified amount of search warrants Thursday morning where 1,879 marijuana plants were located, which weighed about 1,000 pounds, officials said.
Santisouk was arrested at an unspecified address on Palm Street in Cabazon, and Martinez was taken into custody about three miles away on Broadway Street.
It is unclear if the plants were growing indoors or outside.
