Some hot rod owners were issued citations Saturday in Malibu.
The crackdown was at 11:30 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Trancas Canyon Road, according to Lt. G. Evans of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
“They had super-loud, modified exhausts,” Evans said. There were also other vehicle code violations.
Los Angeles Times opinion writer Robin Abcarian tweeted: “I’m stopped on PCH at Neptune’s Net. Cops have busted a giant car rally. Hot rods are being impounded. Drivers arrested. Kind of insane.”
Evans said he was not aware of arrests or whether any vehicles were impounded.
