A 15-year-old boy suffered a minor injury Thursday by tripping while running from the scene of a shooting in Long Beach, but refused to provide police with details about the shooting.

Officers were dispatched to the area of West 49th Street and Long Beach Boulevard about 11 a.m. for a call of a no-hit shooting, Sgt. Rudy Garcia of the Long Beach Police Department said.

The boy, who was not shot but suffered a minor injury in his lower torso, was treated by fire personnel at the scene, according to Garcia.

No information was available about the suspect, and the reason for the shooting is unknown, Garcia said.
