The body of a man who was shot was found on the bike trail in Santa Ana near the riverbed Friday morning, police said.
The body was found just north of Fifth Street on the east side of the riverbed shortly before 6 a.m. by a bicyclist riding north on the bike trail, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The bicyclist did not have a phone with him so he flagged down a construction worker nearby, who called police, Bertagna said.
Later, investigators determined the unidentified victim had been shot in the upper body, Bertagna said.
