A man is hospitalized in critical condition Saturday morning after being struck by the vehicle he had been driving in Garden Grove after a passenger took the wheel.
The victim and two passengers, a man and woman, had driven to the 12000 block of Tamerlane Drive at 1:45 p.m. Friday, where they got out of the vehicle and began arguing, according to Sgt. M. Martinez of the Garden Grove Police Department.
The male passenger jumped into the driver’s seat of the victim’s vehicle and drove away with the female, intentionally hitting the victim, Martinez said.
Officers responding found the victim laying on the street and provided medical aid until Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Martinez said.
The victim’s vehicle was later found, unoccupied, in Anaheim, Martinez said.
The name of the victim was not disclosed.
Detailed descriptions of the suspect or the female passenger were not available.
Anyone who witnessed this assault was asked to call Detective Heine at 714-741-5422.
