A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist Sunday in Long Beach, police said.
The bicyclist was riding southbound on Orange Avenue and was struck by a vehicle also going southbound on Orange Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers dispatched at about 3:30 a.m. to the crash scene near Del Amo Boulevard reported seeing the victim lying in the southbound lane of Orange Avenue. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
“At this time, there is no description of the suspect vehicle,” police said in a statement.
The name of the bicyclist will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
