Police Sunday said four people are in custody in connection with the gang-related, drive-by shooting death of a 44-year-old man in South Los Angeles.

The victim was in the 800 block of West 104th Place when three suspects — two women and a man — approached in a vehicle at 5:59 p.m. Saturday and fired several shots at him, said Officer Jeffrey Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said. His name will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

No further information was immediately released about the suspects in custody.
