A 26-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday on a sidewalk in North Hollywood, and the suspect remains at large.
The shooting occurred about 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Vineland Avenue and Vanowen Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Jose Torres, of North Hollywood, was found on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He died at a hospital.
Investigators believe the victim was walking with another man when the suspect approached and shot him for reasons unknown. The other man ran away uninjured, police said.
The suspect is believed to be in his 20s and was wearing dark clothing, according to police.
