A stolen vehicle suspect Tuesday evening led officers on a pursuit from the San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley, where the suspect vehicle crashed into a light pole.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Station started following the stolen vehicle about 7:05 p.m., according to an official with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect fled officers near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway, and traveled westbound on the Ronald Reagan Freeway until exiting in Simi Valley, the official said.

The car was going about 100 mph on streets in Simi Valley, ABC7 reported.

The chase ended when the driver appeared to lose control and smashed into a light pole near Cochran Street and Meralda Avenue about 7:30 p.m. It was not immediately clear if the suspect, who was taken into custody, was injured during the collision.
