A man was fatally shot on a Riverside street Friday, and the shooter remained at large.

It happened about 6 a.m. near the intersection of Commerce and Fourth streets, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Officer Ryan Railsback said the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was shot several times near a business and stumbled toward the entrance before collapsing.

An employee spotted the man lying on the ground and called 911, Railsback said.

Paramedics arrived moments later and pronounced him dead at the scene.

There was no sign of the shooter, according to Railsback.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the police department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit at 951-353-7134, or send details via email to rpdtips@riversideca.gov.
